Explained
Artificial hymen
The short answer: an artificial hymen is a cosmetic product that simulates the appearance of light bleeding. Despite the name, it does not create, restore or replace any tissue. The usual form in India is a single-use capsule inserted vaginally 30 to 60 minutes beforehand, which dissolves with body heat and releases a small amount of red, blood-like fluid. Prices run roughly ₹1,200 to ₹3,850.
The name is misleading, and that matters
"Artificial hymen" sounds like a prosthetic — something that replaces a missing structure. It is not. There is no membrane, nothing is fitted, and nothing remains afterwards. What you are buying is a small dissolving capsule of coloured fluid.
The name persists because it describes the intended impression rather than the product. Worth knowing before you compare listings, because some sellers lean on the name to imply far more than the product does.
The same thing under several names
These all describe the same category, and searching any of them returns much the same products:
- Artificial hymen — common on pharmacy marketplaces; the leading branded product is sold under this name
- Artificial hymen capsule — the capsule format specifically
- Hymen blood capsule — describes what it releases
- Virginity blood capsule / virginity capsule — describes the intended use
- Fake blood capsule — usually the same product, though this term also returns theatrical stage blood, which is a different thing and not for internal use
One distinction is real rather than cosmetic: hymenoplasty is surgery, performed by a doctor, and has nothing to do with these products beyond sharing a goal.
Capsule or kit?
| Capsule | Kit / film | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Dissolving shell holding red fluid | Thin film or pouch, sometimes with lubricant |
| Insertion | Like a tampon, 30–60 min before | Similar, positioning more fiddly |
| Leaves anything? | No — dissolves fully | Film dissolves; sachet is discarded |
| Availability in India | Common | Less common, usually imported |
| Typical price | ₹1,200–₹3,600 | ₹2,000–₹3,850 |
For most people the capsule is the simpler choice: fewer steps, nothing to remove, and far easier to buy in India without importing.

What it cannot do
- It does not restore virginity. Virginity is not a physical state that can be measured or reversed.
- It does not repair tissue. No product inserted vaginally reconstructs a hymen.
- It is not contraception and offers no protection against infections.
- It proves nothing — and neither does bleeding. Around half of women do not bleed at first intercourse, which is entirely normal. The World Health Organization has called for virginity testing to end because it has no scientific basis.
We sell this because the expectation is real even where it is baseless, and the consequences of not meeting it can be serious. But you should be able to buy it from someone willing to tell you what it actually is.
